Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Air Force Maj. Gen. Terrence J. O’Shaughnessy has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as deputy commander, U.N. Command Korea; deputy commander, U.S. Forces Korea; commander, Air Component Command, Republic of Korea/U.S. Combined Forces Command; and commander, Seventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces, Osan Air Base, Korea. O’Shaughnessy is currently serving as director, operations, Headquarters U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Steven L. Kwast has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commander and president, Air University, Air Education and Training Command, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. Kwast is currently serving as commander, Curtis E. LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education, and vice commander, Air University, Air Education and Training Command, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.
