General Officer Assignments

The chief of staff, Army announced the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Michael A. Bills, commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas to assistant chief of staff, C-3/J-3, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, U.S. Forces Korea, Republic of Korea.

Maj. Gen. John C. Thomson III, commandant of cadets, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York to commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Brig. Gen. Paul Bontrager to deputy commanding general, 10th Mountain Division, Light, and acting senior commander for Fort Drum, Fort Drum, New York. He most recently served as commander, Train Advise Assist Command-South, Resolute Support Mission, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Operation Freedom’s Sentinel, Afghanistan.

Brig. Gen. Diana M. Holland, deputy commanding general, support, 10th Mountain Division, Light, Fort Drum, New York to commandant of cadets, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York.
