General Officer Announcement

June 2, 2016

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nomination:

 

Marine Corps Lt. Gen. David H. Berger for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general, and for assignment as commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific; and commanding general, Fleet Marine Force Pacific.  Berger is currently serving as the commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.
