Flag Officer Announcements

June 7, 2016

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nominations:

Navy Rear Adm. Michael M. Gilday for appointment to the rank of vice admiral, and for assignment as commander, Fleet Cyber Command; and commander, Tenth Fleet, Fort Meade, Maryland.  Gilday is currently serving as director, operations, J-3, U.S. Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Maryland.

Navy Rear Adm. Colin J. Kilrain for appointment to the rank of vice admiral, and for assignment as commander, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Special Operations Headquarters, Brussels, Belgium.  Kilrain is currently serving as commander, Special Operations Command, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H.M. Smith, Hawaii.

Navy Rear Adm. Luke M. McCollum for appointment to the rank of vice admiral, and for assignment as chief of Navy Reserve, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.    McCollum is currently serving as reserve deputy commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, California.
