U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for African Affairs Chidi Blyden participated in the Defense Cooperation Pillar of the U.S.-Kenya Bilateral Strategic Dialogue today at the DACOR Bacon House in Washington, DC. The Kenyan delegation was led by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Alfred Nganga Mutua.
The talks reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral defense cooperation.
The U.S. and Kenyan delegations discussed a range of topics including regional security, implementation of the 2022 Bilateral Country Action Plan, counterterrorism, impact of climate change, and professional military academic institutions. The U.S. Department of Defense and the Kenya Ministry of Defence and the Kenya Defence Forces will continue the strong partnership.
